Well, we just finished our Winter Break Party and it was a lot of fun. Thanks to Jenny Johnson and all the parents who volunteered their time to make it a success! Here are a couple pics of the class making winter scarves and playing some crazy games.

Today we had our Art Literacy Volunteers come into our class and teach us about Louis Comfort Tiffany, the man who made beautiful stained glass windows and art. We used clear and colored plastic shapes to make our own "Stained Glass" art. The projects are up on the wall in the hall. They are great and very creative. They will go home after everyone gets a chance to check them out.

Mr. Kelley's class has been working on creating Wordless Books, that is, books without words.

"How can you read a book without words?" you ask.

Well, everyone has an amazing amount of knowledge that is already in their heads and when you see the pictures, your brain uses that knowledge, or schema, to fill in the details and make connections. You can tell exactly what is happening in the story based on the events in the pictures.

Students loved this project and many students wrote more than one story!
