2nd Grade Market!

The 2nd grade Central Idea for our PYP Unit "How We Organize Ourselves" is: "Communities depend on the exchange of goods and services to function". To wrap up this unit, the whole 2nd grade had a "market". Each student made a good or provided a service and set up shop in the classroom. We also learned about advertising, pricing, supply and demand, and many other concepts. Then all the students in 2nd grade, and many from the rest of the school, teachers, and parents came to the market to buy the amazing products the students were selling! Students were also given jobs in the class in order to make money to spend at the market. It was a huge success!

Art Lit - Bev Doolittle

This month Art Lit was focused on Bev Doolittle. She is an amazing artist who uses camouflage to misdirect the viewers eyes away from the important parts of the piece. Mr. Kelley's class used colors and patterns from the background to hide our animal shapes.
