New favorite book!

Well, I just found my new favorite book. It is called "Say Hello To Zorro" by Carter Goodrich. It is a funny, easy to read book about a dog and his owner who have a comfortable schedule that Zorro enjoys. One day Zorro's owner brings home a new friend, a pug, and Zorro is upset about the change in his routine. At first the dogs don't get along, but everything works out when Zorro realizes that his old, comfortable routine is actually more fun with a new friend.

We are going to read it the first day of school. I loved it and I hope you will too.

Getting the room ready for the First Day of School

I have been hard at work in my new classroom here at Bonny Slope and have slowly made some progress. Creating new bulletin boards that are educational and interesting can be difficult sometimes but I have had lots of help from other teachers and my parents. Thanks Mom and Dad! Here is what it looked like when I walked in for the first time.

New chapter

Alright, this is my new blog. I thought I should document the start of a new chapter in my teaching career. I am now a 2nd grade teacher at Bonny Slope Elementary in the Beaverton School District. I have only met a few teachers at my new school, but they have been great.  I think I am going to like it here.

Well, this isn't me in 2nd grade, but I am pretty young! Pretty funny huh!
